Professional Experience

Library Assistant | Scottsdale Public Library

04/2022 - Current

Working in human services in the public sector has taught me much about the significance of quality design, user journeys, and the balance between user behaviors and stakeholder requests. In this role, I have strengthened my critical thinking, storytelling, collaboration, research, and presentation skills.

Notable Projects: Appaloosa Library Navigational Audit (07/2025 - 04/2026), Scottsdale Public Library Website Redesign (01/25 - 05/25), Mobile App Exploratory Committee (09/2025 - 11/2025), Web Usability Taskforce (10/2025-Ongoing)

UX Assistant | San Jose State University

08/2024 - 09/2025

This role was my introduction to UX as a profession. Working directly with the Director of the School of Information at SJSU, I worked on a team of 3-4 UX Student Assistants and mentored groups of interns (8 total) each semester. I built a foundation for design and research skills under the mentorship of the Director and UX Coordinator. The most significant skill I honed was presenting findings, insights, and recommendations to leadership, as I was frequently the member of our team asked to present to stakeholders.

Notable Projects: Website Navigation Redesign, Competency Tracker Mobile App, iSchool Webpage Wireframe Team, United Against Banned Books (UABB) Virtual Reality Project, Seeking Immortality Virtual Reality Project, SJSU iSchool Marketing Virtual Reality Project, Kenya & Little Free Libraries Project

Professional Presentations: California Library Association (CLA) Poster Presentation: Ukrainian Libraries in Wartime Content Audit (2024)

UX Design Intern | Fight For The First

05/2025 - 08/2025

During my graduate studies, I studied the field of advocacy. Working with the founder of a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advocacy and campaigning of libraries, librarians, and free speech, I assisted in sprucing up their website. I learned much about the potential limitations of third party web platforms and was challenged to get more creative and intentional with the elements we could manipulate.

Notable Projects: Fight For The First Accessibility Usability Testing, Website Redesign (Wireframing and UX Writing)

Product Designer | Scoop Ice Cream Truck (Concept)

10/2025 - Ongoing

Scoop started as a question I kept asking myself: why don't local food businesses have better mobile experiences? I designed a full iOS app concept for a fictional Phoenix ice cream truck from scratch, going through two rounds of critique and iteration that sharpened my eye for navigation, visual hierarchy, and the small copy decisions that make a big difference in how users feel.
